An opposition system must build the counter-model, not generate a rebuttal.

A motion is an application for a signature. What the movant files is, in substance, a draft of the court's order: a standard selected and quietly shaded, facts arranged so the standard resolves them, authorities lined up so that granting feels like obedience to precedent. Judges do not sign arguments. They sign orders.

The conventional opposition walks the motion's headings in the motion's order and objects paragraph by paragraph. Even when every objection lands, the court is left holding one coherent account of the dispute and a list of complaints about it. The opposition that wins hands the court a second, better draft: the correct standard quoted, the burden put back where the rules place it, the record speaking through pin cites, the movant's authorities answered or cut loose, and a route to denial the judge can adopt.

A system built for that job has a different product. Retrieval and drafting are inputs. The output is a counter-model: the motion decomposed into the assertions it cannot win without, each tracked as holding, contested, severed or conceded, and each backed by provenance or marked as work remaining. The system fixes posture, standard and burden before any argument exists, audits each citation against the inferential move claimed for it, logs the motion's omissions as findings, forces a disposition on every point, drafts against the reply, and orders the brief by the opposition's own theory rather than the movant's outline.

A rebuttal generator produces more paragraphs. A counter-model builder produces something the court can sign, and a record showing that a lawyer made every call that mattered.
