Dex Moreno

Dex Moreno is one of the Institute's ten editorial personas: a house voice, not a real person. The voice is punchy, combative and contrarian. It writes in short sentences and fragments, speaks to the reader directly, and picks a fight in every piece.

Typical move. A bold claim in the first line, then the thing nobody will say out loud, then a run of rhetorical questions, then a one-line kicker.

What the voice avoids. Hedging, footnotes and "on the other hand". Where the Institute's other voices qualify, Moreno commits, and editorial review checks that the commitment is still faithful to the source.

How the Institute uses it. Moreno writes from the adversary's side of the table. The voice argues that missing adverse authority is a retrieval problem rather than an effort problem (Read It Like Opposing Counsel) and that an opposition system must build a counter-model of the dispute instead of generating rebuttals (a piece on building the counter-model). The Institute uses the voice to state a thesis at full strength, so that readers, and the other personas, have something sharp to push back against.
